Punjab News- Fire in PNB building in Ferozepur; No loss of life

Ferozepur, September 22, 2013: There was a panic in the area of Ferozepur City-Zira road, on noticing of heavy smoke and fire on the joint wall between Punjab National Bank and petrol pump.
 
The local fire brigade controlled the fire within two hours on reaching the site within ten minutes on getting a call at about 3 PM. Had the incident occurred during the night, there would have been major loss to the petrol pump and the record of the bank, apart from the mobile towers.

As per the sources, the fire has occurred due to short-circuit.
 
Ram Lal Manak, Bank Manager said, he got the information about the incident of fire on a call from someone.  The loss has not so far been estimated but the PNB customers would not face any problem and in case there is any such problem, the customers would divert to the nearby branch at a walking distance.
 
However, the fire incident has left a big question mark about the issuance of NOC to the bank or petrol pump with a common wall.
