Punjab News- Bajwa asks Badal to release DA installments of Punjab employees

Chandigarh, September 21, 2013: Partap Singh Bajwa President Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) today hailed the decision of center government to enhance the Dearness Allowance(DA) of its 80 lakh employees and thanked the UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and AICC Vice President Mr. Rahul Gandhi for watching the interests of employees.
Bajwa in a statement here said that it was ironical that SAD-BJP government in Punjab had not yet released the DA installments of its employees due from January and July 2013. He demanded immediate release of DA installments of Punjab employees with enhancement on the pattern of center government. He said that Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal were making false claims on economic position. “If the financial position is healthy why Punjab government is not able to pay the DA and Pay Commission arrears of employees”, he asked.
Bajwa said that SAD-BJP government has stopped the payment of GPF and other retirement benefits of employees and salaries were no paid on time. He said that Principal Secretary Finance D.P.Reddy has exposed the falsehood of Badals by stating that they would be able to pay the retirement benefits and regular salaries of employees from November onward. “I don’t expect even it would be true”, Bajwa added.
