Chandigarh, December 29, 2025: Under the decisive leadership of Mohit Mohindra, President, Punjab Youth Congress, the Youth Congress today carried out massive, coordinated protests in all districts of Punjab against the complete collapse of law and order under the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government.

Acting on the directions of Dr. Smruti Ranjan Lenka, In-Charge, Punjab Youth Congress, Youth Congress workers, district presidents, and office-bearers held peaceful but uncompromising demonstrations outside SSP Offices and CP Offices across the state, sending a clear warning to the government that Punjab will not accept anarchy as governance.

Issuing a hard-hitting statement, Shri Mohit Mohindra said, “Punjab today is not being governed — it is being abandoned. Gangsters dictate terms, businessmen receive daily extortion calls, open firing has become routine, and drugs are destroying an entire generation. The AAP government has reduced law and order to press conferences and advertisements while Punjab bleeds on the ground.”

Mohit Mohindra further stated that the situation has become dangerously irreversible if not addressed immediately. “A government that cannot protect its citizens has no moral right to remain in power. Criminals are fearless because they know the state is weak. Police officers are under pressure, and political interference has broken the system,” he added.

He warned that the Youth Congress will not be silenced.

“Today’s protest is just the beginning. If the AAP government continues to ignore the ground reality, the Punjab Youth Congress will escalate this movement into a full-scale statewide agitation, involving civil society, traders, students, and farmers,” Mohindra asserted.

Reiterating the Youth Congress stand, Dr. Smruti Ranjan Lenka said that Punjab, being a border state, cannot afford such negligence.

“Law and order is not optional — it is fundamental. The collapse we are witnessing today is a result of administrative failure and misplaced priorities of the AAP government,” he said.

The Punjab Youth Congress placed the following immediate demands before the government:
    •    Zero-tolerance crackdown on gangsters, extortion rackets, and drug mafias
    •    Public accountability of senior police and administrative officers
    •    Strengthening of law enforcement without political pressure
    •    A time-bound action plan to restore public safety

The Youth Congress made it clear that Punjab’s youth will fight on the streets until fear is removed from the minds of citizens and the rule of law is restored.
