Punjab is firmly back on path of development — Cabinet Minister Hardeep Singh Mundian

Ludhiana, April 5, 2026: Cabinet Minister Hardeep Singh Mundian on Sunday held a direct interaction with residents of Machhian Khurd.
While addressing the gathering, Mundian said the Bhagwant Mann-led government has delivered remarkable progress in just four years through honest and transparent governance, putting Punjab firmly back on the path of development. He added that people across the state are highly satisfied with the facilities and welfare schemes being provided by the government.
The Cabinet Minister stated that the government has successfully fulfilled its pre-poll promises within four years. He highlighted that nearly 90 percent of domestic households are now getting 300 units of free electricity, resulting in zero electricity bills for most families. Farmers are receiving daytime power supply, which has significantly boosted agricultural productivity. The government has also expanded canal irrigation coverage to 78 percent of the fields.
In the health sector, the establishment of Aam Aadmi Clinics across the state has strengthened primary healthcare, while the Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojana is providing cashless medical treatment up to Rs 10 lakh per family. The education sector has seen a massive transformation with a multifold increase in the state education budget. As a result, Punjab secured the top position in the National Achievement Survey 2024, with government school students scoring 18 percent higher than the national average.
On the employment front, the government has created over 65,000 government jobs in a completely transparent manner. The government has also launched a strong campaign under ‘Yudh Nashean Virudh’ against drugs and constituted the Sadak Surakhya Force to ensure better road safety.
During the event, Minister Hardeep Singh Mundian distributed sports kits and sewing machines among the local beneficiaries.
