Punjab health minster and senior officials to inspect all government hospitals

Chandigarh, October 15, 2013:  Senior health officials would start inspecting all Government Hospitals in the state from next week therefore all things should be put in proper place.
Disclosing this here today, Vini Mahajan Principal Secretary Health & Family Welfare Punjab issuing directions regarding this said that seven days time is given to all Civil Surgeons and SMO’s for this.
She said that as per the directions of the Health & Family welfare Minister Surjit Kumar Jayani senior officials of the Health Department as well as Minster himself would start visiting the hospitals in the state from next week.
Mahajan said that funds have been made available to SMO's for making arrangements regarding special cleanliness drive in the Government hospitals of the state. Hospitals have been given 7 days time to ensure proper cleanliness of premises, wards and other areas as well ensuring proper greenery outside hospitals.
Principal Secretary Health said that corruption in the department won’t be tolerated at any level in the department. She said that patients should be treated politely by the Doctors and the supporting staff in the hospitals. She added that doctors should also prescribe drugs made available free at the drug stores of the government hospitals. She further said that laxity won’t be tolerated and strict action against would be taken if anybody found guilty.
Mahajan has also directed the Civil Surgeons and SMO’s to ensure the timely attendance of doctors & supporting staff in government hospitals and no excuses would be entertained if anybody found absent. www.cityairnews.com
