Punjab Govt organizes state level function on 208th Parkash Purb of Satguru Ram Singh Ji 

Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan on Wednesday said that the founder of Namdhari Sect Satguru Ram Singh Ji had played a key role in the freedom struggle and used non-cooperation as a weapon against British rule besides his life and philosophy helped in eliminating social evils from the society.

Bhaini Sahib (Ludhiana), February 14, 2024: Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan on Wednesday said that the founder of Namdhari Sect Satguru Ram Singh Ji had played a key role in the freedom struggle and used non-cooperation as a weapon against British rule besides his life and philosophy helped in eliminating social evils from the society.

Addressing the gathering in a state-level function at Bhaini Sahib held on the 208th Parkash Purb of Satguru Ram Singh Ji, Sandhwan highlighted that following the non-cooperation movement by Satguru Ram Singh Ji, the people got mobilized against the British Government boycotted services/facilities and goods of the British government. He said that the ideals propagated by Satguru Ram Singh Ji were later adopted by other eminent freedom fighters like Mahatma Gandhi.

The Speaker said that the sacrifices made by Kuka martyrs under the leadership of Satguru Ram Singh Ji would continue to inspire the people and would help the masses to contribute to society's development. He further said that a real tribute to Satguru Ram Singh Ji would be to follow the path shown by him and called upon the people to emulate his ideology to bring transformation in society.

Sandhwan said that the Namdari sect has always promoted agriculture and sports. He also announced fulsome support to the Namdhari community.

Prominent among those present on the occasion included HS Hanspal, MLA Hardeep Singh Mundian, ADC Major Amit Sareen, Surinder Singh Namdhari and others.
