PUNJAB GOVT APPROVES WIDENING & STRENGTHENING OF MALERKOTLA-RAIKOT ROAD

Ludhiana, January 3, 2018: Under the CRF (Central Road Fund) scheme, the project of widening and strengthening of Malerkotla-Raikot Road to Barnala-Raikot Road has been approved by PWD Minister Mr Vijay Inder Singla. This was informed by Dr.Amar Singh, senior Congress Leader from Raikot constituency. He said that the total cost of this project is approximately Rs.9.68 crore. This work will be starting soon after the completion of the tendering process.
Congress leader Amar Singh showed his gratitude and appreciation on the approval of the project. He further said that this project was a long pending demand of the residents of Raikot constituency and also added that several development projects have been started while many more are in pipeline. He said that the Congress-led Punjab government is committed for providing world class road infrastructure to its residents.
Dr Amar Singh informed that upon interaction with PWD Minister Mr.Vijay Inder Singla, the cabinet minister told him that 2537 kilometre roads of district Ludhiana would be repaired with the cost of Rs.248.17 crore by June 2019. “Mr Singla told that Khanna to Sidhwan Bet road via Malerkotla-Raikot-Jagraon would be upgraded as a national highway,” Dr Amar Singh informed.
