Punjab Governor visits KMV during World Entrepreneurship Sammelan

The Governor of Punjab, Banwarilal Purohit graced the vibrant campus of Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) to commemorate World Entrepreneurship Sammelan. This memorable event, organised in collaboration with the Swadeshi Jagran Manch, celebrated innovation and enterprise while recognising the aspirations of budding entrepreneurs.

Jalandhar, September 4, 2023: The Governor of Punjab, Banwarilal Purohit graced the vibrant campus of Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) to commemorate World Entrepreneurship Sammelan. This memorable event, organised in collaboration with the Swadeshi Jagran Manch, celebrated innovation and enterprise while recognising the aspirations of budding entrepreneurs. 

The proceedings of this formal event commenced with the lighting of the holy lamp and invocation to the Goddess of Learning. Eminent members of KMV Managing Committee namely Mr Alok Sondhi, General Secretary, KMV Managing Committee, Dr Sushma Chawla, Vice President, KMV Managing Committee, Dr Satpal Gupta, Member, KMV Managing Committee, Dr Kamal Gupta, Member, KMV Managing Committee, Dr Deepali Luthra, Member, KMV Managing Committee, Mrs Neeru Kapoor, Member, KMV Managing Committee & other eminent dignitaries graced the occasion. 

Welcoming the eminent and illustrious guest, Principal Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi averred that KMV is the pioneer institution of North India that have stood for women empowerment and emancipation. She also highlighted the meritorious achievements of KMV some being the Autonomous Status & Heritage Status by the Government of India, Star College Status by DBT, Curie grant by DST, Government of India, A Grade by NAAC, College with Potential for Excellence Status & recently declared one of the Top colleges of India by India Today, Outlook, Times of India  magazines. 

In his address, Chander Mohan, President, Arya Shiksha Mandal welcomed the Honourable Governor. He stressed that  all educational institutions and policy makers must resolve to combat various challenges in the society by bringing about transformational changes in educational landscape like KMV. Governor Banwarilal Purohit highlighted the pivotal role played by entrepreneurship in driving economic growth, fostering innovation, and generating employment opportunities within Punjab. He commended KMV for their collective efforts in nurturing a culture of self-reliance and entrepreneurial spirit among the youth and was also highly appreciated of the glorious history of KMV. 

On this occasion, Governor also honored and encouraged young entrepreneurs by recognising their innovative ventures, offering them words of motivation, and presenting them with token of appreciation. Shubhneet Kaur, Simran Suri, Nishu Rani, Mehar Vrishti, Namya Arora and Nikhil Miglani were honoured with Young Entrepreneur Award. Along with this, Neha Waraich, Rantej, Bowry and Rajan Chopra were honoured with Outstanding Entrepreneur award. autam Kapoor was honoured with Excellence in Entrepreneurship Award. 

Governor also took a keen interest in the entrepreneurial spirit on display by visiting various stalls set up by the various departments of KMV. This provided him with firsthand insights into the diverse range of entrepreneurial initiatives by the innovative individuals. Moreover, Governor also visited the Hall of Fame of KMV in order to know the rich legacy of KMV. 

On this occasion, Governor of Punjab also launched the website of KMV Shopping Plaza showcasing the creative designs of KMVites. 

Dr Ashwani Mahajan, All India Co-convener, Swadeshi Jagran Manch in his address said that this collaborative effort between KMV College and Swadeshi Jagran Manch underscores their shared commitment to nurturing an environment conducive to entrepreneurship in Punjab and empowering the youth to realise their potential as successful entrepreneurs. 

Pankaj Jindal, State Co-convener, Swadeshi Jagran Manch gave Vote of Thanks to all the eminent dignitaries. 

Principal lauded the efforts of Dr Madhumeet, Dr Rashmi Sharma, Dr Gopi Sharma and all the other members of the organising committee for successfully organising the event. Mr Siddharth was also present on the occasion.
