Punjab government’s startup hub signs MoU with CGC Landran

Chandigarh: The Startup hub of Department of Industries and Commerce, Government of Punjab, ‘Start-up Punjab’ and Department of RISE (Research, Innovation, Sponsored Projects & Entrepreneurship) of Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Landran has inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for taking forward the aim of creating a conducive eco-system for start-ups in the state. This MoU will provide a platform to the start-ups to register with Startup Punjab and become a part of the same ecosystem. Special ideation workshops, acceleration Programs, Hackathons, Bootcamps will be organised for the early-stage start-ups at CGC Landran.  


Facilitation based support to Punjab based start-ups in investor funding, regulatory issues, business advisory will also be a part of the same. A special emphasis will be given on the promotion of women entrepreneurs.

During the MoU ceremony, State startup Nodal officer, Tanu Kashyap (IAS) said, “Mohali is going to become a hub for any startup across the globe which wants to seek the support of Punjab government. This however doesn’t mean that Punjab will shift itself from Agriculture to any other sector; rather Agriculture will itself imbibe tech-initiatives. The entrepreneurial vision taken up by the government will offer a platform to a larger section of society to contribute to agriculture through other areas like IT, Biotechnology, AI and others.
