Punjab Government should prepare documentary on Giani Zail Singh, demands KK Bawa

Desh Bhagat Yaadgari Society Punjab on Wednsday organising a function on Gill Road at Ludhiana, to celebrate the 17th birth anniversary of Late President Giani Zail Singh.

Ludhiana, December 25, 2013: Desh Bhagat Yaadgari Society Punjab organised a function on Gill Road here, to celebrate the 17th birth anniversary of Late President Giani Zail Singh.
Speaking on the occasion, the society’s patron Jagdev Singh Jassowal and president Krishan Kumar Bawa termed Giani Zail Singh as the great patriot who strongly fought against the British Rule. They recalled that Giani Zail Singh had played a key role during the freedom struggle by participating in the Riasti Parjamandal Movement. Further revealing historic facts about the deceased personality, they said King of Faridkot had committed atrocities on Giani Zail Singh as the latter was pulled after tying his hairs with a vehicle.
Both Jassowal and Bawa said Giani Zail Singh had done a remarkable work for Punjab and the while Sikh community after getting constructed the 640-km-long Guru Gobind Singh Marg from Anandpur Sahib to Talwandi Sabo. They said the whole life of Giani Zail Singh was full of struggle and asked the politicians to follow the footsteps of Giani Zail Singh because in the present political scenario money, approach and nepotism is dominating.  They urged upon the state government to get prepare a documentary on the life and works of Giani Zail Singh. They also spoke about the freedom movement run by the leader of INA, General Mohan Singh.
In his address, former Punjab minister Malkit Singh Dakha said the life of Giani Zail Singh started from mud house and ended at the President’s House. He said Giani Zail Singh’s whole life was full of honesty, great vision and far sightedness.
Baba Vishavkarma International Foundation’s patron Gurmeet Singh Kular. Surjit Singh Lotey, Bhupinder Singh Moscow and Kuljit Singh KW, also spoke on various aspects of life of Late Giani Zail Singh. Among others, Amrik Singh Ghariyal, OBC Cell Punjab convener Balwinder Singh Gora, chairman Baljinder Singh Hunjan and vice chairman Pal Singh Matharoo also spoke and recalled the role played by Giani Zail Singh for welfare and upliftment of OBCs in the country.
On the occasion, Jassowal, Bawa, Gurmeet Singh Kular, Yashpal Sharma on behalf of the society, Prof. Mohan Singh Foundation’s president Pargat Singh Grewal, Harchand Singh Dheer, TT Sharma and Resham Singh Saggu honoured the freedom fighters Devki Nandan Khar and Prof. Hazara Singh specially, and sought that the Punjab government should give facilities to freedom fighters at par with the Haryana Government.
Among others, ward president Raj Rani, Gurcharan Singh Bal, Kulwinder Singh Kalsi, Sudesh Kumar, Pawan Kalsi, Balwinder Kaur Butter and Chaman Bawa were present.
