Khanna (Ludhiana), April 19, 2025: Cabinet Minister Tarunpreet Singh Sond announced that since 2022, the Punjab Government has prioritized delivering world-class education and healthcare services. He underscored the transformative changes in government schools, driven by significant investments to modernize school infrastructure across the state.
Sond inaugurated development projects in two schools included the Government High School in Ghungrali Rajputan, where a science laboratory was established for Rs 11 lakh, a boundary wall for the playground was constructed for Rs 21.5 lakh, and school bathrooms were renovated for Rs 1 lakh. Additionally, the Government Primary School in Jatana underwent repair work costing Rs 3.78 lakh.
Sond credited these advancements to the Aam Aadmi Party government’s initiatives since 2022. These improvements have shifted public perception, resulting in a notable surge in student enrolment. To further elevate educational standards, the government has facilitated international training for teachers to address systemic gaps. The Minister affirmed that more educational reform projects are planned for the near future. He also highlighted that the government has regularized 12,700 contractual teachers and is actively recruiting 20,000 new teachers. Under Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s leadership, the Punjab Government has provided 56,700 government jobs to the state’s youth.
Sond also emphasized that Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s efforts have positioned Punjab’s government schools as global benchmarks of excellence.
