Punjab government grants extension to retired PCS officers

Chandigarh, December 31, 2013: The Punjab government has decided to re-employ 27 retired PCS officers with effect from January 1, 2014 for another six months. The extension has been granted purely on contractual basis.
Disclosing this here today an official spokesperson of the Punjab Government said that this it would be the last extension granted to these retired PCS officers. The officers who have been granted extension are, Upjeet Singh Brar, Kubir Singh, Balraj Singh Sekhon, Ajmer Singh, JC Sabbarwal, Gurwariyam Singh, Pritam Singh Johal, Sukhwinderpal Singh, Avtar Chand Sharma, Mohan Lal, NC Batth, Dharminderpal, Narinder Singh Brar, Surinder Kaur Riar, Dr. Baljit Singh, Sukhmander Singh, Indu Mishra, Sukhwinder Singh Gill. Gurtej Singh, Mohan Lal Sharma, Ashok Kurmar Sikka, Amarjit pal, Om Parkash Popli, Mukand Singh Sandhu, Jaspal Singh, Harminder Singh and Kuldeep Singh Chandi.
The other terms and condition for the reemployment would remain the same as was applicable earlier. The spokesperson further said that this is the last extension granted to these officers.
He said that earlier 32 PCS officers were re-employed by the Punjab Government till December 31, 2013.
