Khanna, June 1, 2025: Punjab Cabinet Minister Tarunpreet Singh Sond on Sunday reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to ensuring effective treatment and rehabilitation for drug victims to reintegrate them into mainstream society.

Addressing gatherings during the "Yudh Nashya Virudh" campaign in Jaspalon, Chak Sarai, and Jatana villages of the Khanna Assembly Constituency, the minister emphasized the government’s focus on strengthening de-addiction facilities and rehabilitation programs to combat the drug menace.

Sond criticized previous governments for patronizing drug traffickers and facilitating the trade using their own vehicles. In contrast, he highlighted that the Bhagwant Singh Mann-led government is taking stringent action to protect Punjab’s youth from drugs. He expressed satisfaction and stated that the backbone of the drug trade has been broken, thanks to the relentless efforts of the Punjab Police.
