Punjab Government committed to ensuring progress of farmers- Gurmeet Singh Khuddian 

Punjab Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Gurmeet Singh Khuddian on Wednesday reiterated that Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann led Punjab government was committed to ensuring progress of farmers of the state by taking a slew of initiatives to increase the income of our farmers.

Malaud (Ludhiana), September 20, 2023: Punjab Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Gurmeet Singh Khuddian on Wednesday reiterated that Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann led Punjab government was committed to ensuring progress of farmers of the state by taking a slew of initiatives to increase the income of our farmers. 

Accompained by MLA Payal assembly constituency Manwinder Singh Giaspura, the minister was addressing the gathering here at Malaud Dana Mandi where newly appointed Chairman of Malaud Market committee Karan Sehaura assumed the charge of his office in the presence of agriculture minister. The minister expressed hope that Chairman Karan Sehaura would keep on the hard work for disseminating the welfare programs of Punjab government amongst farmers. 
The Minister further stated that Karan Sehaura was the youngest Market Committee Chairman of the state and expressed hope that his young shoulders would fulfill the aspirations of people of Malaud. Punjab Government was spreading hope among the young generations of the state by making them active partners in creation of 'Rangla Punjab'. It was only Aam Aadmi Party that was giving prominent posts to youngsters in government, he said adding that Mann government has also started a drive to fill all the vacant posts in the several departments in a free, fair, and transparent manner. Furthermore, self-employment was also being encouraged to make our youth able to become successful entrepreneurs. 

Speaking on pro-farmers initiatives, he also said that state government was making concerted efforts to enhance the income of farmers by promoting other allied activities including dairy farming, horticulture, food processing units, etc. Agriculture, horticulture, and all concerned departments were working in unison to strengthen macro-economic of the state. Gurmeet Singh Khuddian also said that farmers of Punjab are very hardworking and their tireless efforts has brought the title "Food Bowl of the Country" to the state but now, the it was need of the hour to get support of technologies, research and industry to further strengthen the agriculture economy.
          
Complimenting newly appointed Chairman, the MLA Manwinder Singh Giaspura thanked Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and Cabinet Minister Gurmeet Singh Khuddian for this appointment. He mentioned that Karan Sehaura has worked hard in this constituency and would continue working for the welfare of farmers. 

On the occasion Chairman Karan Sehaura while thanking Chief Minister, Cabinet Minister, and MLA said that he was overwhelmed with the new responsibility bestowed upon him by the Government. He further said that he would not leave any stone unturned to ensure progress of farmers in this area. He also thanked all the leaders who had converged on this occasion. 

Meanwhile, the minister also interacted with the farmers and Aartis and listened to their issues while giving on-the-spot directions to resolve the same.  

Earlier, a contingent of Ludhiana Police gave guard of honour to Minister on his arrival at grain market.

Chairman Planning Board Sharanpal Makkar, AAP District President (Rural) Harbhupinder Singh Dharaur, SDM Jasleen Kaur Bhullar were also present on the occasion.
