Punjab exempts factories from site clearance located in approved areas

Chandigarh, October 13, 2013: To give impetus to industrialisation in the state the Punjab government has announced to exempt the factories located/ to be set up in the designated/approved areas from clearance of site from the State Competent Authority cum State Appraisal Committee. Under the new policy this exempt would be extend to those units to be set up in industrial area/industrial estate/industrial focal points/approved Industries Park / industrial zone of the master plan/draft master plan.
Disclosing this here today an Official Spokesperson of the Punjab Government said that however, for the industries to be set up in area other than such areas as designated/approved areas such as industrial area/industrial estate/ industrial focal point/ approved industrial park/industrial zone of the master plan/draft master plan, would be necessary to get site clearance under section 41-A of the factories Act, 1948.
Spokesperson said that however all the industries which have to be exempted from site clearance, would have to meet all statuary requirements under various acts and obtain required approvals from directorate of factories, Punjab and the Punjab pollution control board. www.cityairnews.com
