Chandigarh, August 29, 2013: The Punjab government has de-listed 783.33 hectare land which was covered under forest area for agriculture. This chunk of land extended in 11 villages of Talwara block, district Hoshiarpur. The notification in this regard has been issued.

Disclosing this here today an official spokesman of the Punjab government said that earlier this land was notified under Punjab Land Preservation Act 1990. He said that under this act cultivation/habitation on this land was prohibited, now this land has been de-listed from the act.

Divulging the detail he said that in village Narangpur 75.28 hectare, village Gag Jallo 10.10 hectare. Village Labhar 97.41 hectare. Village Jharere  120.81 hectare, village Bhavnaur  259.91 hectare. Village Barian  16.52 hectare, village Ado Chak  40.98 hectare, village Bhatoli 31.77 hectare, village Ajmer  7.93 hectare, village Bisso Chak  14.98 hectare and village Dharampur 107.64 hectare land has been de-listed from the Punjab Land Preservation Act 1990. He further said that this land would be available to owners only for agriculture.
