Punjab CM directs officers to fix time for exclusively meeting general public and their representatives

Chandigarh, May 6, 2014: In a bid to provide efficient administrative services to the people, the Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today directed the officers of the state government to fix the time exclusively for meeting the general public and their elected representatives by avoiding any government meeting during these hours.

Disclosing this here today a spokesperson of the Chief Minister’s Office said that in the orders issued here today, Badal expressed deep concern over the rising complaints of the general public and their elected representatives that the officers have either not fixed any time for redressing their grievances or usually avoid to meet them during the time fixed for them, due to which the general public and their representatives have to face a lot of problem in getting their day to day administrative works done. Taking cognizance of this fact, the Chief Minister had directed the officers of the state government to specifically fix the hours for meeting the general public and their representatives, so that they could be provided quick and prompt administrative services.

Likewise, Badal has also directed the officers to ensure that no government meeting was kept during the time fixed for the people so that they could be able to meet the officers for their routine matters. The Chief Minister has also directed the officers to duly publicize these timings through display boards outside the offices and the media, so as to make people aware of it.
