Punjab CM calls upon Punjabis to offer prayer for well being and safe return of Punjabi struck in Iraq

Lambi, June 20, 2014: Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today gave an emotional call to Punjabis, Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee, Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee, Social, Religious organisations and Panchayats to offer prayers before the Almighty God for the well-being and safe return of Punjabi youth, who got trapped in Iraq.

While presiding over a thanks giving tour of Union Food Processing Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal, the Punjab CM addressing a mammoth gathering said the abduction of Punjabi youth in Iraq was a very serious issue, which has put the families of trapped youth under a huge worry and in this hour of crisis we all should pray for them so they can return to their home securely and safely. Badal informed the gathering that last day they along with the delegation of families met Union Minister of External Affairs Sushma Swaraj, who assured the Indian Government would leave no stone unturned for the safe return of our youth.

The Chief Minister also extended thanks to the people of Bathinda Parliamentary constituency for reposing their faith in ruling SAD-BJP. He said as the voters gave clear mandate to the ruling alliance, the Union Government also recognize Punjab by giving Cabinet Ministry to Harsimrat Kaur Badal in NDA government. The CM said Badal always working with a pro-active approach for the development of state and now after getting Cabinet berth our state would progress in great leaps and bounds. He said Modi government has given Cabinet berth to Harsimrat Kaur Badal on the basis of performance, dedication, commitment and her capability of putting state on the fastest pace of development besides inducting her in key central economic and political committees.

In her emotional address Badal thanked the people of Bathinda parliamentary constituency and said the credit of becoming minister in Union Government goes to the voters of constituency especially of Lambi residents. Badal said Food Processing was a key ministry and she will do her best to fulfill commitment with Lambi residents by brining employment projects in the area so that the economic face of this segment can be changed. She assured that this segment would soon witness phenomenal development strides.

Meanwhile more than 44 Panchayats honoured Punjab CM Parkash Singh Badal and Union Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal.   Tejinder Singh Mithukhera welcomed CM and Union Cabinet Minister.
