Punjab beat Goa by 81 runs in Elite Group-A league match of Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2021-22

Mohali, November 6, 2021:Punjab State Senior Men’s Team played their third Inter-State match for Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2021-22 against Goa at Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow-U.P
Goa won the toss and elected to field first.  Batting first Punjab team scored 197 runs for loss of 4 wickets in 20 overs. Prabhsimran Singh unbeaten 119 runs off 61 balls with eleven boundaries and six sixes and Shubman Gill 40 runs off 36 balls  with two boundaries were the main run getters for Punjab. For Goa Shubham Ranjane took 2 wickets for 27 runs.
Replying Goa could not achieve the target and scored only 116 runs for loss of 8 wickets in their 20 overs. Suyash s Prabhu dessai scored 30 runs off 33 balls with two boundaries and one six and Shubham Ranjane scored 19 runs off 18 balls with two boundaries for Goa. For PCA Siddharth Kaul took 3 wickets giving away  21 runs , Harpreet Brar took 2 wickets for 12 runs and Mayank Markande also took 2 wickets  for 29 runs. With this win Punjab scored 4 points.
