Ludhiana, August 7, 2023: The Punjab Agriculture Minister Sardar Gurmeet Singh Khudian inaugurated the National Sports Organization (NSO) camp 2022-23 at Punjab Agricultural University (PAU).

Addressing the students, the Minister opined: “All the parents wish for the best of their child, be it in terms of health or education. I hope you will remain healthy and get the best education at this renowned agricultural institute of PAU, enabling you to make a mark in your respective field in the national and international arenas.”

Dr Satbir Singh Gosal, Vice-Chancellor, PAU, stated that sports inculcated the qualities of leadership, discipline, punctuality and determination. All the students must participate whole-heartedly in games and sports for over all personality development, he said to the youths.

Dr Nirmal Singh Jaura, Director Students’ Welfare, while welcoming the dignitaries and the sportspersons, informed that the NSO camp which kicked off on August 4 will culminate on August 18. Involving the participation of a total of 250 students of PAU, the camp will train the youths in athletics, basketball, badminton, cricket, hockey, volleyball, football, swimming, cycling and handball games besides focusing on their physical fitness. “PAU has always been maintaining the balance between academics and co-curricular activities,” he added.

Dr MIS Gill, Registrar, proposed a vote of thanks.

Present on the occasion were Dr PK Chhuneja, Dean, Postgraduate Studies; Dr AS Dhatt, Director of Research; Dr Shammi Kapoor, Comptroller; Dr RK Dhaliwal, Dean, College of Agriculture; Dr HS Sidhu, Dean, College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology; Dr TS Riar, Additional Director Communication; and faculty and students of PAU.
