All Punjab Aanganwadi Employees Union staging protest infront of deputy commissioner’s office at Ferozepur.

Ferozepur, February 23, 2013: All Punjab Aanganwadi Employees Union staged protest infront of deputy commissioner’s office to register their demands and burnt the effigy of central government.

Later on, the Aanganwadi workers submitted a memorandum  of demands to the deputy commissioner. 

Addressing the protestors, Sheela Rani, Preet Kaur and Kanta Rani said, the center government is not paying any heeds towards the demands of Aanganwadi workers with the result they have to resort to the path of agitation. 

They opposed the policy of engaging the workers for opening of 11 creches  at the Aanganwadi centers by the center government. 

They demanded the facilities to Aanganwadi workers and helpers as per the government employees, changing the ICDC schemes in to a department and in case their demands are not accepted, they will further intensify the agitation.

On the other hand, Vibhore Kumar Sharma, DSP said, the Aanganwadi workers and helpers have damaged the main gate of DC office by entering the office and on the complaint of deputy commissioner, Ferozepur, a case is being registered.  While the workers and helpers denied any damage to the government property but had staged protest within the limits of law.
