Puneri Paltan delights its fans with surprises during long weekend

Pune, 4th October 2017: Puneri Paltan, one of the top performing teams of the Pro Kabaddi League recently organized various activities during the long weekend to surprise its fans. The activities were organized in the Puneri Paltan Fan Zone at Liberty Square, Phoenix Market City, Pune. The activities saw participation from about 1500 Kabaddi enthusiasts.

The Pune based band MH14 performed many of their original compositions and enchanted the crowd. The performance got great response with the crowd cheering and wanting an encore performance. The matches where Puneri Paltan played Tamil Thalaivas and UP Yoddha were also screened live at the fan zone, where the supporters of Puneri Paltan cheered and applauded for their home team.

A Karaoke was also organised for the fans to participate. Many fans came and sang the Puneri Paltan anthem ‘Gheun Tak’. In the evening, a live kabaddi experience for fans was set up. It was an activity where people had to form teams of 7 and play on the mat at the Liberty Square. The people were taught basic rules of Kabaddi like Cant, raiding and touching. Fans enthusiastically took part in the friendly match and also took many selfies with the Puneri Paltan mascot present there. The activities received overwhelming responses from the people.

Speaking on the occasion, Kailash Kandpal, CEO of Puneri Paltan said, “The motto of Puneri Paltan is to promote Kabaddi right from the grass-root levels. We want to spread awareness on kabaddi everywhere possible. With the Kabaddi fever catching up in Pune, this was the right time to organize such activities which will help us to create interest about Kabaddi as a sport in people’s mind.”

The Liberty Square, where the activities were conducted also has a Puneri Paltan Fan Zone especially constructed for the fans before the home leg. Phoenix Market City Pune, also has a 24x7 ticket kiosk on the 1st floor from where the tickets for Puneri Paltan’s home leg matches and exclusive Puneri Paltan merchandise can be bought. The home leg matches of Puneri Paltan are scheduled in Pune from 13th October till 20th October, 2017 in Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex, Mahalunge, Balewadi, Pune.
