PUCA-PUTIA demands Appointment of Vice Chancellor in IKG-PTU, Jalandhar


Over 1.25 Lakh students of around 186 Colleges of IKG-PTU, Jalandhar are without VC

Ludhiana, December 15, 2017: A joint meeting of Punjab Unaided Colleges Association (PUCA) and Punjab Unaided Technical Institutions Association (PUTIA) was held under the leadership of Dr.Anshu Kataria, President, PUCA and Dr.Manjit Singh, Vice President, PUTIA. Unaided Colleges of the tricity participated in the meeting.

Dr.Anshu Kataria while speaking on the occasion said that in IKG-PTU, Jalandhar the position of Vice Chancellor is vacant since last 3 Years. Due to which the students, Staff, Colleges, Parents, stakeholders etc are facing hardships.

Kataria further said that over 1.25 lakh students are studying in around 186 Colleges falling under the jurisdiction of IKGPTU, Jalandhar.

Dr. Manjit Singh while speaking said that if we want to make Punjab as destination for Education then we need to have VC in the IKG-PTU, Jalandhar. Many of the problems of the stakeholders remains unsolved because of delay in the decisions due to non available of head in the University which is over 20 years old.

Manjit Singh further Questioned that when all other top universities like Guru Nanak Dev University(GNDU),Amritsar; Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (MRS-PTU),Bathinda;Punjab Agriculture University (PAU), Ludhiana have VC then why IK Gujral Punjab Technical University(IKG-PTU),Jalandhar is headless since last many years ?
