Public Institutions in Punjab Crippled by Flawed Policies: Arvind Khanna

Chandigarh, August 6: Punjab BJP leader and former MLA  Arvind Khanna has strongly criticized the Aam Aadmi Party government, blaming its “populist and directionless” policies for the ongoing financial distress in public sector institutions across the state.

Khanna said schemes like free bus travel and free electricity were launched without a sustainable financial plan. “The government is failing to make timely payments to these departments, and thousands of employees are left waiting for salaries for months,” he said.

He added that employees of PRTC and Punjab Roadways have repeatedly staged protests, including road blockades, but the government continues to ignore their demands.

Due to lack of funds, maintenance of government buses has also taken a hit, causing frequent breakdowns and delays, Khanna noted. He urged Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to take immediate corrective measures or risk losing public trust permanently.
