Ludhiana, October 15, 2022: Amid brimming fervour and liveliness of young girls, PU Zonal Youth and Heritage Festival of Ludhiana, Zone – B commenced at Ramgarhia Girls College. The zone comprises of ten girls colleges.  The five day festival, began with great zeal and enthusiasm, and will conclude on 19 October, 2022. The theme of the festival is “Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat”.  

The festival aims to showcase the talent of the youth through a plethora of events. Dr. B. S. Shah, was the Chief Guest for the morning session. Rajinder Pal Kaur Chinna MLA, Ludhiana was the Chief Guest for the afternoon session and S. Kulwant Singh Sidhu,  MLA, Ludhiana was the Chief Guest for the evening session. The event was marked by many prominent personalities to whom the college Offg.  Principal Dr. Rajeshwarpal Kaur extended a very cordial welcome. The inauguration of the event started by lighting  the ceremonial lamp by Dr. Shah and our dignitaries-  Ranjodh Singh , President, Bhupinder Singh Milap, Vice President S. Gurucharan Singh Lotey, General Secretary, Ramgarhia Educational Council. On this day, annual magazine of college 'Rutt Lekha'was also released.

To invoke the blessings of the Almighty, students of the P.G Dept.  of  Music recited “Deh   Shiva Var  Mohe.” Dr.Rohit Kumar Sharma, Director, Dept. Youth Welfare PU, averred that a neck and neck competition is always witnessed in this zone and encouraged  the participants to gear up for the same. An array of competitions was organized at different venues simultaneously. The competitions that marked the first day were those of Music items like Shabad, Bhajan , Group Song, Classical Vocal, Geet/ Gazal, Folk Song: Literary Items like Essay Writing, Story Writing, Poem Writing, and Handwriting: Art and Craft items like Chhikku Making , Pranda Making,  Naala Making, Peerhi Making, Rassa Vattna , Eennu Making, Mitte De Khidaune and Guddian Patole Making. In all the competitions, the participants put their best foot forward and made the task of the judges of various competitions very difficult. 

While addressing the assemblage, Rajinder Pal Kaur Chinna, said that such  festivals provide an excellent platform to the youngsters to explore and exhibit their potential. Principal Dr. Rajeshwarpal Kaur congratulated the prize winners. She said that by dint of the efforts of the Dept. of Youth Welfare, PU, and the cooperation of the colleges and above all, the grace of the Almighty; the festival has kick- started spiritedly and the same is hoped for the subsequent days. Ranjodh Singh, President, Ramgarhia Educational Council also congratulated the winning participants and said the college prides itself on organizing several Youth Festivals at the Zonal and Inter Zonal Level in our college. Former Director Nirmal Jaura, Youth Welfare Dept. also graced the occasion. Gurucharan Singh Lotey, General Secretary of the Council, said that the festival is the most- awaited event for the students and with their enthusiastic participation on the first day; they have added a spark to it.
