PU to host Transfer of Technologies Conference in Medical Devices on May 23-24

Chandigarh April 30, 2025: Panjab University, Chandigarh will host a national-level Transfer of Technologies (ToT) Conference in Medical Devices “Strategic Meet for Academia–Research–Transfer in Medical Devices” (SMARTMED 2025) on 23 and 24 May 2025.

 

The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell (MIC), in collaboration with DST-Technology Enabling Centre (DST-TEC), Panjab University and the Punjab State Council for Science & Technology (PSCST), are organising SMARTMED 2025 in hybrid mode. SMARTMED 2025 aims to bridge the gap between research innovations and industrial applications in the rapidly advancing field of medical technology. SMARTMED 2025 is a unique platform for researchers and early-stage innovators to accelerate the journey of their technologies from lab to market and contribute meaningfully to India’s MedTech innovation ecosystem.

 

PU has invited incubated startups, faculty, researchers, and innovators from Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) across India to submit their Expression of Interest (EoI) by May 6, 2025 for presenting their technologies that have reached Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 4 or above. The focus areas include Diagnostic Devices, Therapeutic Devices, Surgical and Neurological Equipment, Pediatric and Cardiovascular Devices, Wearables & Health Monitoring Technologies, Drug Delivery Devices, Orthopaedic & Rehabilitation Devices, and more.

 

The key highlights are opportunity to pitch technologies directly to industry stakeholders, real-time prospects for technology transfer and licensing, expert mentorship prior to industry engagement, national-level visibility for selected technologies and startups. There are no registration fees for the participation.
