PU rose festival

Chandigarh: The 11th Panjab University Rose Festival is going to be held from 7th to 9th February, 2020.

Prof. R.C. Paul Rose Garden has been given a facelift for the Festival. The entrance gates have been beautified and hedges have been better designed. More than 3400 Rose plants of 158 varieties are adorning the garden. 13 nos. new plants have been added this year. Certain varieties will have different colours of flowers blossoming in the same plant will add to the beauty of the garden.

The objective is to give green & clean environment message to the general public and to explore the hidden talent of students. During the three days festival, the different competitions will be arranged for different age groups among the School Children, College and University Students.

This year onwards, one special award would be presented each to a Boys Hostel and a Girls Hostel on the basis of landscaping and cleanliness, during Flower Competition of the Panjab University Rose Festival. 

Entry Fees (Per Entry) for various competitions will be as following:-
a.    Flower Competition    ----------     Rs. 50 per entry per participant
b.    Singing, Dancing and Rose Prince & Princess Competitions ------ Rs. 300 per entry per participant
c.    School Band Competition -----------  Free Entry
d.    Other competitions    -----------      Rs. 100 per entry per participant

Entries for flower competition will be accepted upto 06.02.2020 till 5:00 p.m. at Rose Festival Secretariat, Single Window Enquiry, Near Post Office, Panjab University, Sector-14, Chandigarh and on 07.02.2020 till 10:00 a.m. at Prof. R.C. Paul Rose Garden, Panjab University, Chandigarh.

Entries for photography competition will be accepted upto 04.02.2020 till 5:00 p.m.. Entries for all other competitions will be accepted upto 05.02.2020 till 5:00 p.m. 

Apart from it, for the entertainment and to spread Indian culture among the masses, we will be organizing Cultural/Star Nights in the evenings of all three days of the competitions.

To cater to the need of the visitors, there would be variety of food space in the Food Court. For entertainment of children & youngsters, rides and gaming zones will be set up.

Stalls for display and sale of products and services can be put up the festivals.
The form for booking of stalls at the Panjab University Rose Festival can also be downloaded from the website or can be obtained from the office of Divisional Engineer (Hort.), Construction Office, Panjab University, Sector-14, Chandigarh.

Students of the University may associate with the Panjab University Rose Festival under ‘Earn while learn programme’.
