PU Library gets books on Sanskrit Prose

Chandigarh, September 8, 2021: The family of late Dr. M.C. Sharma donated a book titled “Panorama of Sanskrit Prose Kavyas” to Dr. Jivesh Bansal, University Librarian, Panjab University, in his memory and tribute to his alma mater. Dr. M.C. Sharma had been the University Grants Commission (UGC), Research Scholar in the Department of Sanskrit, Panjab University, Chandigarh from 1967 to 1970. He was the first Ph.D. in Sanskrit from Panjab University, Chandigarh. He served as Professor and Head of the Department of Sanskrit in Govt. College, Chandigarh.
Dr. Sharma’s book is the culmination of his tremendous research in the field of Indology and presents a critical study of Sanskrit Prose Kavyas with special reference to geographical, social and cultural data from 6th Century A.D. to 15th Century A.D.  and is a pioneer research work in the field of oriental language and literature. It was his passion to publish this book on Indology and to distribute the book in various libraries across India and world for students as a research reference guide on Indology.
