PU Led PI-RAHI and Korea’s HL KLEMOVE Join Hands to Boost Automated Driving And Sustainable Transport Solutions

Chandigarh, September 15, 2025: Panjab University – IIT Ropar Regional Accelerator for Holistic Innovations (PI-RAHI), Northern Region Science & Technology Cluster, and HL KLEMOVE India Pvt. Ltd. today signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to drive breakthroughs in sustainable mobility, automated driving, and green energy solutions. 
The MoU was signed by PU Vice Chancellor and PI-RAHI Chairperson Prof. Renu Vig, and Vice President, India Tech Center – R&D, Bengaluru, Kwan Sun You at Panjab University, Chandigarh. Senior representatives from HL KLEMOVE India Pvt. Ltd., including Jaeseung Lim (Group Leader, System Group), Youngsub Sohn (Group Leader, Application Group), and Minseok Won (Group Leader, V&V Group), along with Prof. Meenakshi Goyal, Director, RDC; Prof. Y.P. Verma, Registrar, PU; Prof. Rajat Sandhir, Director, PI-RAHI; Prof. Sukhwinder Singh, Director, UIET; Dr. Ramesh Kumar Kanda, Dean Alumni, Corporate and International Affairs, PEC; Prof. Navdeep Goyal; Dr.Parveen Goyal;  Dr. Jatinder Kaur Arora, Advisor, PI-RAHI; Prof. Dhiraj K. Mahajan, Faculty Head, Sustainable Mobility & Green Energy, PI-RAHI; and Neha Arora, Chief Operating Officer, PI-RAHI, were also present on the occasion.
For students, researchers, and industry professionals, this collaboration means faster access to real-world technologies that touch everyday life—from futuristic driverless cars, to smarter batteries that last longer, to energy-efficient systems that help reduce fuel costs and carbon emissions.
Welcoming the MoU, Prof. Renu Vig said that the MoU will open new and more dynamic options in bringing various forward-looking, cutting-edge facilities in line with Indian-friendly conditions. It will also reduce the barriers between research, industry, and society by creating direct pathways for applied R&D, internships, and technology transfer, while making the students of PU and the region more employable and industry-ready for the future, she added.
HL KLEMOVE India Pvt. Ltd., promoted by HL KLEMOVE Corporation, South Korea, brings extensive expertise in automated driving systems, vehicle connectivity, ADAS technologies, and advanced mobility solutions designed for the Indian context. The partnership with PI-RAHI will focus on accelerating India-specific innovations that address local challenges in smart mobility, green energy, and sustainable transportation.
Through this strategic alliance, both organisations have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the government-supported innovation ecosystem by jointly pursuing high-impact projects. Key focus areas include industry internships, applied research and development, technology transfers, pilot deployments, and nurturing startups by offering industry mentorship and access to strategic partnerships.
As India’s first regional Science & Technology Cluster supported by the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India, PI-RAHI is continuing to bridge academia, industry, government, and civil society across Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, and Chandigarh.
This MoU marks a major milestone in PI-RAHI’s mission to foster scalable innovations aligned with India’s vision for sustainable development, technological self-reliance, and long-term societal impact.
