PU Faculty Awarded

Chandigarh, December 26, 2018: Dr Neelima Dhingra, Assistant Professor, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, University Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Panjab University, Chandigarh has been conferred upon with “Bharat Ratna Mother Teresa Gold Medal Award 2018” for her outstanding achievement in Education and Research. The award carries a Gold Medal, Trophy and certificate and the award was given by Global Economic Progress and Research Association, Tamil Nadu Government on 22 December , 2018 at Chennai.
There were 25 Awardee from different States and categories. Dr Neelima was selected from Panjab for her contributions in the field of Science. She is Medicinal Chemist and her major area of research is designing ( QSAR ) and synthesizes of new chemical entities while working on molecular biology and pharmacology of hormone-dependent cancers ( prostate/ breast/ lung). Her work has also been recognized at national and international level with 8 Awards including “Indira Vasudevan Award” in the field of cancer research.
