PU Centre for Public Health Conducts Orientation Programme on Public Health Innovation
The Centre for Public Health, Panjab University, in collaboration with the Institution’s Innovation Council (Ministry of Education initiative), organised a three-day Orientation Programme from 8th to 10th September 2025. The event introduced new students to key areas of public health, including epidemiology, disaster preparedness, maternal and child health, health systems, and immunisation.

Chandigarh, September 10, 2025: The Centre for Public Health, Panjab University, in collaboration with the Institution’s Innovation Council (Ministry of Education initiative), organised a three-day Orientation Programme from 8th to 10th September 2025. The event introduced new students to key areas of public health, including epidemiology, disaster preparedness, maternal and child health, health systems, and immunisation.
PU Registrar Prof. Yajvendra Pal Verma was the Chief Guest and addressed participants with insightful remarks on academic and societal responsibilities. The programme featured expert sessions by Dr Kapil Goel, Dr Avneet Randhawa, Dr Har Ashish Jindal, Dr Bharti Sharma, and Dr Anuradha Nadda, who shared valuable perspectives on public health research, policy, and practice.
An alumni interaction session, guidance on research and innovation, and campus networking opportunities enriched the experience for new scholars. Organised under the leadership of Dr Manoj Kumar and coordinated by Dr Paravreet Kaur and Ms Poonam Sharma, the programme concluded with a call to strengthen evidence-based public health and innovation in India.
