Chandigarh, October 2, 2026: The Centre for Distance and Online Education (CDOE), Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh, celebrated World Distance Learning Day to highlight the transformative revolution in how knowledge now travels beyond classroom walls.
Meritorious CDOE students were honoured on the occasion.
A richly compiled coffee table book capturing student testimonials, visual narratives and faculty profiles, as well as the twenty-eighth edition of the Indian Journal of Distance Education, edited by Prof. Sheena Pall, were also released on the occasion.
The Chief Guest, Pro-Chancellor, Maharaja Agrasen University, Prof. Rakesh Kumar Gupta, spoke on ‘Distance Learning: Breaking the Barrier, Building the Future’.
Earlier, in her welcome address, Director, CDOE, Prof. Geeta Bansal, traced the Centre’s evolving legacy and presented a vibrant account of the year’s initiatives that have expanded access to and innovation in distance learning.
