PU celebrates Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati Jayanti

Chandigarh, February 13, 2022: “Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati Jayanti” was celebrated today by Girls Hostel No.8 (Florence nightingale) in collaboration with girls hostel 6(Mother Teresa) and boys hostel no - 8 (Banda Singh Bahadur Hall) in Panjab University under the aegis of Dean Student Welfare office. 
Professor V.K Alankar, Chairman of Dept. of Sanskrit & Dayanand Chair for Vedic Studies, Panjab University and  Dr. Udayan Arya, Acharya, Gurukul, Kartarpur (Punjab) were Distinguished Speakers for the occasion. 
Dr Simran Kaur (Warden GH-8) started the event by welcoming the Speakers. Dr. Manisha (warden GH-6) gave introduction about the theme of the webinar to the audience. Prof. Meena Sharma, DSW (W) presided over the function and highlighted the teachings of Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati ji. Professor  Alankar in his address emphasised on the Life sketch of Swami Dayanand saraswati and his contribution towards the society very nicely to students. Dr. Udayan Arya talked about the Arya Samaj which was founded by Swami Dayanad saraswati and highlighted his work in reviving Vedic ideologies. Students interacted with both the speakers and they answered many questions of students. Associate DSW Professor Ashok Kumar and warden of other hostels were also present. More than eighty people attended the function.
