PU Alumnus Joins A.I.I.M.S New Delhi as Assistant Professor
The Department-cum-National Centre for Human Genome Studies and Research (NCHGSR), Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh, celebrates the achievement of its alumnus, Dr. Vandana Dhiman, who has joined the All India Institute of Medical Sciences New Delhi as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Paediatrics, Division of Genetics.

Chandigarh, September 18, 2026: The Department-cum-National Centre for Human Genome Studies and Research (NCHGSR), Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh, celebrates the achievement of its alumnus, Dr. Vandana Dhiman, who has joined the All India Institute of Medical Sciences New Delhi as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Paediatrics, Division of Genetics.
Dr. Vandana passed M.Sc in Human Genomics in 2009. After her M.Sc, she worked under various projects in PGIMER Chandigarh along with pursuing her Ph.D under the Guidance of Prof Sanjay Bhadada. She completed her Ph.D in the year 2019. She was awarded DBT-RA Program in Biotechnology & Life Sciences, awarded for DBT-Research Associate-I by IISc Bangalore from Dec 2019- Dec 2021.
Thereafter, Dr. Vandana worked as Scientist-B of ICMR at Department of Endocrinology, PGIMER, Chandigarh. She worked as Senior Demonstrator from Oct 2022 to August 2026 at the same place before being selected as faculty at A.I.I.M.S, New Delhi. Her scholarly contributions include more than forty peer reviewed papers. Her main area of research is Bone metabolism and its role in Bone disorders.
