PU Alumni Calls for Financial, Technological, and Mentorship Support to PU
Panjab University Alumni reiterated their commitment to strengthening a strong alumni institution partnership, emphasising the importance of alumni contributions in driving research, innovation, and infrastructure development.
Chandigarh, November 1, 2025: Panjab University Alumni reiterated their commitment to strengthening a strong alumni institution partnership, emphasising the importance of alumni contributions in driving research, innovation, and infrastructure development.
During the interactive alumni session, PU Alumnus and CBO of leading Renewable Energy Providers ORIANA POWER Anirudh Saraswat emphasised that alumni should move beyond symbolic participation and take tangible steps toward contributing to Panjab University’s development. He urged fellow graduates “not to merely attend alumni meets but to actively contribute towards PU’s growth through real initiatives.”
Dr. Amarendra Behera, Joint Director at NCERT and a 1991 alumnus, spoke about his journey from humble beginnings in Odisha to leading national educational initiatives. He shared that NCERT now operates over 400 channels and multiple mobile applications to deliver digital learning content, and expressed his intent to collaborate with the University for content development, student mental health, and academic curriculum enhancement through an MoU.
Jasmine Rana, a Computer Science Engineer and recently crowned Miss Globe India 2025, credited the University’s faculty for their guidance and encouragement. She expressed her desire to give back to her alma mater through mentorship, particularly in empowering young voices in the pageant and creative industries. She thanked PU for fostering an environment that welcomes new perspectives and urged students to never be discouraged in pursuing their purpose.
Manish Jindal, a scientist and entrepreneur, proposed establishing a Centre of Excellence for Robotics at the University. He announced his willingness to provide advanced equipment and technical support on an honorary basis, aiming to create a space where innovation and research can thrive through alumni-industry collaboration.
Participating in the session, PU Vice Chancellor Prof. Renu Vig encouraged alumni to take part in Investors’ Summit for funding the startups on university campus.
