PU Alumna Dr. Anit Kaur Appointed Assistant Professor at PGIMER
Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh the Department-cum-National Centre for Human Genome Studies and Research (NCHGSR) congratulates its distinguished alumna, Dr. Anit Kaur, on her appointment as Assistant Professor in the Department of Immunopathology at the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh.
Chandigarh, June 22, 2026: Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh the Department-cum-National Centre for Human Genome Studies and Research (NCHGSR) congratulates its distinguished alumna, Dr. Anit Kaur, on her appointment as Assistant Professor in the Department of Immunopathology at the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh.
An alumna of the Master's programme in Human Genomics at PU, Dr. Kaur completed her Bachelor's degree in Bioinformatics before pursuing doctoral research at PGIMER.
Dr. Kaur's research focuses on primary immunodeficiency disorders, hereditary angioedema, severe combined immunodeficiency (SCID), Kawasaki disease, nephrotic syndrome and other rare immune-mediated disorders. Using advanced next-generation sequencing technologies, she has contributed significantly to the identification and functional characterization of novel genetic variants, facilitating improved diagnosis and patient management.
Over the course of her academic career, Dr. Kaur has received several prestigious fellowships, research grants, travel awards and recognitions from national funding agencies, including the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), Department of Health Research (DHR), Department of Science and Technology (DST), Department of Biotechnology (DBT) and Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR).
She has presented her research at numerous national and international scientific forums and has been honoured with several young investigator and travel awards. Dr. Kaur has authored more than 40 research papers in reputed peer-reviewed journals and has also contributed chapters to academic books.
Faculty members, researchers and students of NCHGSR expressed pride in Dr. Kaur's achievement, describing it as a testament to the quality of research training and academic mentorship available at PU.
