Jalandhar, November 4, 2014: CT Group of Institutions, Shahpur, began its three-day PTU Inter-Zonal Youth Festival on Tuesday. Day one of the festival witnessed a huge crowd of participants and eminent personalities from all across the region. As many as 1000 students from teams of 43 colleges participated in various musical, dance and fine arts events.

The events for the first day included Group Shabad Gyan, Group Song, Classical Songs, Folk Songs, War Singing, One Act Play, Mimicry and others. Sh. Pawan Kumar Tinu (Chief Parliamentary Secretary, Sports), Retd. Brig Jadgessh Gagneja S. Charanjit Singh Channi (Chairman, CT Group of Institutions) and Dr. Manoj Kumar (Group Director, CT Institutions) inaugurated the event. Other Leading dignitaries present on the occasion included Dr. S.M Kant (Advisor, Youth and Cultural Affairs, PTU) was the guest of honour.

Dr. Manoj Kumar (Group Director, CT Institutions) extended a formal welcome to the esteemed guests. He also introduced the theme of the festival through a presentation dedicated to the life of Swami Vivekananda.

This was followed by an inaugural address by  Pawan Kumar Tinu (Chief Parliamentary Secretary, Sports). He expressed immense satisfaction on the smooth working of youth festivals. He motivated the students to participate in extracurricular activities to get transformed into total personalities. Through his very inspirational speech, he advocated the need for team spirit and team work for excellent outputs. His motivating words were accepted as the pearls of wisdoms by the enthusiastic audience. Other dignitaries also congratulated the host institute for their splendid organising ability.

Charanjit Singh Channi, Chairman, CT Group of Institutions along with other dignitaries presented token of gratitude to the worthy guests. He exhorted the need for such platforms to nurture the talent in youth. He encouraged the budding artists to hone their skills through such opportunities.

Innocent Hearts School, GMT observed Vigilance Awareness Week

 Innocent Hearts School, GMT Jalandhar, observed Vigilance Awareness Week as announced by CBSE.  Various activities were planned for the students. Slogan Writing and Paragraph Writing were organized for the students of classes VI, VII and VIII. The students participated in the activities enthusiastically.  They wrote wonderfully on “How to root out Corruption before it roots in you.” The Regional Manager of Oriental Bank of Commerce conducted a seminar on “e- Procurement – an effective way of increasing transparency “for the students of classes IX and X The students found it really fruitful.  We conducted Debate competition for the students of classes XI and XII on the topic “e-Governance a way to smooth governance.”   The above mentioned activities would really helpful in creating awareness and eradicating corruption among the society.
