PSPCL Calls Off Night Blackout Following Industry Intervention

Ludhiana, September 7, 2026: A meeting of industrialists under the leadership of Jatinder Mittal Chairman UCPMA, Narinder Bhamra President Fasteners Manufacturers Association of India, Gurmeet Singh Kular president FICO, Harsimerjit Singh Lucky President UCPMA,   Satnam Singh Makkar President DIWA held today with Jagdev Singh Hans, Chief Engineer, Central Zone, PSPCL, regarding the ongoing issue of the proposed five-hour night blackout affecting the industrial sector.

During the meeting, the Chief Engineer, Central Zone, PSPCL, informed the industrial representatives that, on the directions of the Chairman, PSPCL, the demands of the industry have been considered and the five-hour night blackout has been called off with immediate effect.

The industrialists welcomed the decision and expressed their sincere gratitude to Jagdev Singh Hans, Chief Engineer, Central Zone, PSPCL, for listening to the concerns of the industry and taking the matter forward with the PSPCL authorities.

The industry stated that reliable and uninterrupted power supply is essential for maintaining production, fulfilling delivery commitments and controlling operational costs. The withdrawal of the night blackout will provide much-needed relief to industrial units across Ludhiana.

In view of the positive decision taken by PSPCL, the Consortium of Trade & Industry has decided to postpone the proposed protest for an indefinite period.

The industry, however, made it clear that if any such decision is taken in future which adversely affects industrial operations or causes unnecessary hardship to the industry, the industrial fraternity will once again come together and raise its voice against PSPCL.

The industrialists stated that Ferozepur Road and Samrala Chowk will remain the focal points of protest whenever the industry is forced to take to the streets against PSPCL in the future.

The industry reiterated that it always believes in dialogue and cooperation with the government and PSPCL, but at the same time, it will strongly oppose any action that adversely affects industrial production and the business environment of Punjab.

The industrial fraternity thanked PSPCL Chairman and Jagdev Singh Hans, Chief Engineer, Central Zone, PSPCL, for responding positively to the genuine concerns of the industry and resolving the issue with immediate effect.
