PSAIMA Members Visit CICU’s JRS State-of-the-Art R&D, Metro Tyre’s iHub – AwaDH Lab & CICU’s AI Lab

Ludhiana, December 27, 2025: Members of the Punjab State Agricultural Implements Manufacturers Association (PSAIMA) paid an informative visit to the Chamber of Industrial & Commercial Undertakings (CICU) and its advanced innovation and technology ecosystem, comprising CICU’s JRS State-of-the-Art Research & Development (R&D) Facility, the Metro Tyre’s iHub – AwaDH Lab, and CICU’s Artificial Intelligence (AI) Lab. The visit was aimed at providing PSAIMA members with first-hand exposure to modern technologies, research capabilities, and innovation-driven solutions that can significantly enhance industrial productivity, quality, and competitiveness.
During the visit, Dr. Talwinder Singh Bedi, Manager – Operations & Administration, CICU, delivered a detailed presentation on the objectives, functioning, and practical applications of these facilities. He explained how the JRS R&D Facility supports product design, testing, validation, and process optimization; how the Metro Tyre’s iHub – AwaDH Lab serves as a vital bridge between industry and academia by fostering innovation, prototyping, and advanced engineering solutions; and how CICU’s AI Lab enables industries to adopt Artificial Intelligence, automation, data analytics, and digital tools to improve efficiency, decision-making, and cost optimization. Dr. Bedi further emphasized the tangible benefits these facilities offer to industries, particularly MSMEs, including access to expert mentorship, applied research support, technology demonstration, skill upgradation, and customized solutions aligned with industry needs.
Upkar Singh Ahuja, President, CICU, interacted closely with PSAIMA members and shared his valuable insights on the evolving industrial landscape. He underlined the critical role of innovation, digital transformation, and continuous learning in strengthening the manufacturing sector.
