Protest by BJP workers in Dharamsala against denying ticket to local sitting MLA

Dharamsala, October 19, 2022: BJP workers in Dharamsala said that the allotment of party tickets in the coming assembly election in Dharamshala is not correct. The party has ignored the sitting MLA Vishal Nehria and has given ticket to newly entered in the party, Rakesh Choudhry. These allegations are being made by the workers of BJP Mandal Dharamshala.
All the party workers gathered at the ‘Dharamshala Mandal BJP election campaign office’ to protest against the non-consideration of the sitting BJP MLA Vishal Nehria. The office bearers of all the fronts of the division participated in the protest here. The workers and office bearers of Dharamsala Madal of BJP have urged the party high command to rectify their mistake.

The protesters also warned that though they will not leave the organization they will not be involved in the promotion of the changed candidate. “Party high command has given a ticket to such a leader, who has not yet known the workers of the Mandal and has not reached the office of the Mandal till date,” alleged Pawan Kumar (one of the workers). “The high command will have to think again. Otherwise, we will not support the defector leader under any circumstances,” said another.

The agitators said that their circle had been ignored, as the high command did not choose any of the names in the panel and chose those who were not in the panel. They said that they will vote but will not go to seek votes. “We are part of the organization, will not leave the organization, the party has given a ticket to an outsider as such if Vishal Nehria (sitting MLA) chooses to fight as an Independent, we all are  with him,” said Vijay Gupta.” There were 17 names recommended by   BJP Mandal, including three women, and only one of them should have been given the ticket,” added Gupta .
Sangeeta Sharma of Mahila Morcha said that Vishal Naihariya has worked on the ground. Dharamshala Mandal has worked with him.

On the other hand, another BJP leader Vipin Nehria has also announced to contest the election as an independent.
