Chandigarh, June 6, 2025: Prof Satvinderpal Kaur, Chairperson, Department of Education, Panjab University (PU), today presented her latest international publication—COVID-19 and Education in India: Interdisciplinary Reflections and Policy Perspectives—to PU Vice Chancellor Prof Renu Vig. Dean University Instruction Prof Yojna Rawat was also present on the occasion.
The book, published by Routledge Taylor & Francis, has been co-edited by Prof Kaur and a faculty member from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi.
Written from an interdisciplinary lens, the book offers a nuanced and contextual understanding of how COVID-19 has (re)shaped the education sector in India. It provides micro-level insights into the threats posed by the pandemic and outlines pragmatic policy options for the future.
Prof Satvinderpal Kaur shared that the South Asian edition of the book will be released in the coming month, ensuring greater accessibility to scholars, educators, and policymakers across the region.
