Prof. Renu Vig receives NEP implementation progress report at Panjab University

Chandigarh, April 24, 2026: Panjab University Vice Chancellor Prof. Renu Vig today received the progress report of implementation of National Education Policy (NEP).
The report was presented by NEP Coordinator Prof. Anil Monga, Co-Cordinator Prof. Veenu Mangat and PU Saarthis at Vice Chancellor Committee Room in presence of Dean of University Instruction Prof. Yojna Rawat and Director, Public Relations Dr. Vineet Punia. Six months activity calendar upto October 2026 was also presented on the occasion.
Appreciating the progress, PU Vice Chancellor Prof. Renu Vig said that it was a matter of immense pride that PU has made substantial progress in implementing the NEP 2020 through a structured and phased approach. The university has effectively operationalised key NEP components including FYUP curriculum restructuring, Multiple Entry-Multiple Exit(MEME) pathways, SWAYAM based credit integration, and strengthened industry linkages through various initiatives.
Prof. Vig stressed for active participation of NEP Saarthis Student Wing namely Diksha Makkar, Stuti Gautam, Avninder Antall, Saurabh Sherawat, Poonam Beniwal, Karan Pathania, Evereena, Nidhi Sharma and Daljeet Singh to play active role in informing the students about the opportunities and benefits of NEP. She urged the NEP Saarthis to draft a model induction programme schedule for sensitising the newly admitted students in the coming new session.  
NEP Coordinator Prof. Anil Monga informed about the due selection procedure was adopted to select NEP Saarthis which involved inviting applications and conducting interviews as per UGC guidelines. Their role is to sensitise the students on various aspects of NEP policy and organise various activities.  During their six months tenure so far, they have helped in organizing Quiz competition, poster making and slogan writing competitions in various departments, he further informed.
