Private Bus Plunges into Ravine Near CSIR Campus in Palampur; Six Injured
A private bus lost control and rolled down the road near the CSIR campus in Palampur on the Pathankot–Mandi National Highway on Tuesday afternoon. The cause of the accident is yet to be confirmed. However, unconfirmed reports suggest that the driver may have lost control while attempting to overtake another vehicle.

Dharamshala, October 7, 2025: A private bus lost control and rolled down the road near the CSIR campus in Palampur on the Pathankot–Mandi National Highway on Tuesday afternoon. The cause of the accident is yet to be confirmed. However, unconfirmed reports suggest that the driver may have lost control while attempting to overtake another vehicle.
According to preliminary information, the bus was en route from Manali to Pathankot when the mishap occurred. Six passengers sustained injuries in the accident.
Upon receiving information, the local administration and police teams rushed to the spot and launched rescue and relief operations. The injured were evacuated by ambulance and taken to the Civil Hospital, Palampur, where they are undergoing treatment.
Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation. Officials stated that the exact cause of the accident will be established after the completion of the inquiry and the recording of eyewitness statements.
