Jalandhar, October 3, 2022: President of Principals’ Association and Principal of Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra has demanded from the Punjab government to give new pay commission as per UGC pay scales to the non-teaching staff working in colleges. He also thanked the Punjab Government for giving teaching staff the new pay commission and asked that the long pending demand of the non-teaching staff should also be fulfilled on priority basis. He said that the benefit of pay commission of non-teaching staff has been given in all the states of the country. It should also be implemented in Punjab. He appealed to the government that by fulfilling this demand of staff, a new energy will be transmitted in the colleges. He reiterated that the non-teaching staff also works shoulder to shoulder with the teaching staff and make their valuable contribution in higher education. Therefore, the non-teaching staff should also be given new pay commission giving them their due respect.
