Principal Commissioner of Custom’s Ludhiana releases special covers during closing ceremony of 2-Day District Level Philatelic Exhibition (SUTLEJ-PEX-2025) 

Ludhiana, December 5, 2025: The second and final day of Philatelic Exhibition marked the issue of a Special cover on Gow Sewa Samiti by Nasim Arshi, Principal Commissioner of Custom’s Ludhiana in the presence of Balbir Singh, Sr. Supdt. of Post Offices, Ludhiana City Division, Ludhiana  at an impressive function held at Dr. Manmohan Singh Auditorium, Punjab Agriculture University, Ludhiana amidst the presence of hundreds of school children and other dignitaries. The People of Ludhiana have been witnessing the special Philately Exhibition from December 4.

The chief guest Nasim Arshi, Principal Commissioner of Custom’s Ludhiana speaking on the occasion congratulated Balbir Singh, Sr. Supdt. of Post Offices, Ludhiana City Division, Ludhiana for organizing such a mega event aimed at promoting the Philatelic values amongst the different sections of society particularly the students. He further said this exhibition will go a long way in inculcating the Interest of Philately amongst the masses. The chief guest Shri Nasim Arshi, IRIS, Principal Commissioner of Custom’s Ludhiana commended the role of Sr. Supdt. Of Post Offices, Ludhiana City Division, Balbir Singh in infusing new energy in Department of Posts in Ludhiana and accelerating the pace of modernization of Post Offices in Ludhiana City. Remembering the old days, he said people used to wait eagerly for postman for letters and money orders. “The Department of Post has its own history and glory which must be preserved. Though latest trends of technology has minimized the importance of letters yet Post Offices place a important role in the modern arena as it has adopted new technology with the need of time” added the Hon’ble Principal Commissioner of Custom’s Ludhiana.
Balbir Singh, Sr. Supdt. of Post Offices, Ludhiana City Division, Ludhiana speaking on the occasion said that the exhibition is not merely an event but it reflects commitment of Department of Posts to be associated with society in every possible way. He said this exhibition is showcasing the variety of stamps displayed for knowledge of students and general public. The Sr. Supdt. Of Post Offices, Ludhiana City Division said that this is a rare opportunity for the people of State to be connected with the Post Office. Balbir Singh reiterated his commitment for development of Postal services in Ludhiana at par with international standards. 
Later, a quiz competition on the topic ‘Philately and Current affairs,” for school kids was organized by the Postal team of Ludhiana City Division.
Narinder Singh, Supdt. Of Post Offices, Ludhiana “M” Division, Ludhiana presented the vote of thanks to all the members present in the exhibition.
