Chandigarh, November 21, 2025: In a statement issued today, senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab leader and General Secretary Baltej Pannu said that the action taken by Punjab Police against gangsters in Amritsar and Ludhiana over the last 24 hours is a direct result of the strict instructions of the Punjab Government. He said that Punjab now has a government that does not provide patronage to gangsters but is eliminating them.
Launching a sharp attack on the opposition, Pannu said that the previous governments (Akali Dal and Congress) provided political patronage to these gangsters during their tenures and allowed them to flourish. However, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann follows a strict “zero tolerance” policy towards gangsters.
He said that no gangster will be allowed to roam freely in the state. Anyone who breaks the law will not be spared. The law-and-order situation in Punjab is now in completely safe hands. Pannu assured the people of Punjab that they have no reason to fear. The AAP government stands firmly with every Punjabi. Punjab’s peace and harmony will not be allowed to be disturbed at any cost. The AAP government’s action against gangsters and criminal elements will continue until Punjab becomes a completely “gangster-free state.”
Baltej Pannu said that there is no place in Punjab for those who choose the path of crime. He warned these criminal elements that they must either give up crime or be ready to face strict consequences.
