Chandigarh, February 4, 2026: The Office of the Dean Student Welfare in collaboration with the BGJ Institute of Health, Panjab University, Chandigarh, are organizing a Preventive Health Check-up Programme for all workers engaged in Panjab University messes and canteens during the month of February 2026.
With the objective of promoting good health, hygiene, and systematic medical record-keeping, medical cards have been issued to each worker, and their health check-ups will be conducted on a regular basis.
The Dean Student Welfare, Prof. Amit Chauhan, stated that the initiative reflects Panjab University’s strong commitment towards the health and welfare of its workforce, particularly those involved in providing essential services to students.
The Dean Student Welfare (Women), Prof. Namita Gupta, emphasized that preventive healthcare plays a vital role in ensuring dignity, safety, and long-term well-being of mess and canteen workers.
The BGJ Institute of Health will extend medical expertise and professional support for the successful implementation of the programme.
