Ludhiana, August 6, 2026: Preparations have been completed for the Global Peace Conference being organised by Punjabi Sahit Akedemi, Ludhiana, in collaboration with Indian Doctors for Peace and Development (IDPD). The conference will be held on August 9 at 10:00 a.m. at Punjabi Bhawan, Ludhiana.
Dr. Sarabjit Singh, President of Punjabi Sahit Academy, Ludhiana, said that the conference, themed "Global Wars, Our Challenges and Human Existence," is being organised to pay tribute to the victims of the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
Dr. Arun Mitra, President of IDPD, said that wars are causing severe environmental destruction. He noted that armed conflicts have contributed to a rise in forest fires and other ecological damage. He added that documentaries on the Hiroshima and Nagasaki tragedies will also be screened during the conference.
Dr. Pal Kaur, Senior Vice-President of the Academy, said that such conferences are essential in the present global environment. Sadhu Singh, and Prabhjot Sohi have extended an open invitation to all peace-loving citizens to participate in the Global Peace Conference.
