Pre & Post Matric/Top-Class Education Scholarship schemes- Divyang students can apply on portal till September 30 and October 31 respectively 

Ludhiana, August 12, 2022:  Divyang (specially-abled) students can apply for Pre matric scholarship scheme till September 30, 2022 and similarly for Post/Top-Class Education Scholarship schemes, they can apply on www.scholarships.gov.in to avail the benefit till October 31, 2022.

 Deputy Commissioner Surabhi Malik said that the portal was opened on July 20 by the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities to facilitate Divyang students to apply for the financial aid under these schemes. She said that applications would be verified by heads of educational institutes/schools or colleges and later, the verified lists would be rechecked by Social Security department following which government would disburse the scholarship amount into the bank accounts of applicants through DBT mode. 

Malik said that the key objective of these schemes was to support Divyang students for their studies and prepare them to earn their livelihood and find a dignified place for themselves in society. 

Deputy Commissioner directed the officials to create awareness among such students so that they could take benefit of the schemes
