Prashant Kumar Mishra assumes charge of General Manager of RCF Kapurthala
Prashant Kumar Mishra has taken over the additional charge of General Manager of Rail Coach Factory (RCF), Kapurthala. He is also the General Manager of Modern Coach Factory, Rae Bareli and will also hold the post of General Manager of RCF.
Kapurthala, September 26, 2025: Prashant Kumar Mishra has taken over the additional charge of General Manager of Rail Coach Factory (RCF), Kapurthala. He is also the General Manager of Modern Coach Factory, Rae Bareli and will also hold the post of General Manager of RCF.
Mishra, a 1986 batch Indian Railway Service of Mechanical Engineering (IRSME) Officer, has served in the Indian Railways for over three decades. He has held positions such as DRM of Asansol, Malda, and Alipurduar Divisions, and AGM of South Western Railway.
Under his leadership, the Asansol Division was awarded the Best Division Award twice in a row for record loading, earnings, and overall improvement.
Mishra has made special efforts for environment conservation, railway heritage, and cultural development. During his tenure, the Malda Division and Asansol Divisions achieved unprecedented development and established a new identity in the field of environment and heritage.
He has done extensive research on Railway Heritage and has written articles on technical subjects like Railway Heritage, Leadership Management and Diesel Loco Maintenance. He has authored several books on Indian Railway Heritage
Mishra was welcomed by higher authorities on his arrival at RCF. Later, he held a detailed meeting with senior officials on issues related to production of coaches and manufacturing of new type of coaches. He visited RCF workshop, where he inspected the coach manufacturing and gave valuable suggestions in the process.
On this occasion, General Manager Mishra also planted trees along with other officers under the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
This new appointment of P K Mishra , who is well known for his managerial and innovative skills in Indian Railways, will give a new direction to RCF's hopes and plans to innovate in the quality of rail coaches and increase their production.
